Translate Forms With Brella
Learn how to translate a form into any language with Brella Solutions — no manual translation or duplicate forms required. A step-by-step guide to multilingual data collection.
What does it mean to translate a form?
When you translate a form, you make it available to respondents in their preferred language — so they can read questions, understand options, and submit answers without switching to a second language. With Brella Solutions, you build the form once and translate it into any supported language automatically. No duplicate forms, no manual translation work, no extra workflow.
Why you should translate your forms
Language barriers are one of the most common reasons people abandon forms, surveys, and intake processes. When someone is asked to answer questions in a language they're not fully comfortable with, they're more likely to give up halfway, misread a question, or provide inaccurate answers. Translating your form removes that barrier entirely and makes data collection more equitable and effective.
Reach a wider audience
Over 1.5 billion people speak English, but the majority of the world is more comfortable in another language. When you translate a form into Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole, or dozens of other languages, you open your organization up to communities that might otherwise disengage — without hiring a translator for every new form you create.
Improve data quality
When people understand exactly what they're being asked, they give better answers. Translated forms produce cleaner data, more reliable insights, and decisions you can actually trust.
Build trust and demonstrate respect
Taking the time to translate a form into someone's native language sends a clear signal: we see you, and we've made the effort to communicate on your terms. That trust has a direct impact on completion rates, patient satisfaction scores, customer relationships, and community engagement.
Stay compliant
Many organizations — especially in healthcare, government, and education — are legally or contractually required to provide materials in multiple languages to serve their populations equitably. Translating your forms makes compliance straightforward rather than an ongoing operational burden.
Save time and reduce costs
Traditional approaches to form translation mean maintaining separate documents for each language, coordinating with human translators, and manually reconciling responses. Brella handles all of that automatically. One form, one workflow, every language.
Step 1: Log in to your Brella dashboard
Head to brellasolutions.com and sign in with your account credentials. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one here.
Step 2: Navigate to the Forms section
From the left-hand sidebar, click Forms → Templates. Here you'll find all existing forms in your account.
Step 3: Create a new form
Navigate to Forms → New in the side menu. You can create a form manually, generate it with AI, upload a PDF, or copy and paste a Google Form link. Available question types include:
- Multiple choice — respondents pick one option from a list
- Multiple select — respondents pick one or more options from a list
- Free response — respondents type in their own answer
- Date picker — respondents select a date from a calendar
- Signature — respondents digitally sign their name
Step 4: Add and arrange your questions
Build out your form by adding questions one at a time.
Step 5: Translate your form
Once your form is saved, navigate to Forms → Templates and find your form. Click on it and select Add language at the bottom left. Choose any language your account has access to — Brella will automatically translate the form for you.
You can review and edit any translated text before publishing. This is especially useful for domain-specific terminology like medical, legal, or technical terms where a direct translation may need a small adjustment.
Step 6: Publish and share
Your translated form is ready to send via email or SMS. Check out this article for a detailed walkthrough of sharing options.
Step 7: Review responses
All responses are collected in the responses tab on your dashboard. No matter which language a respondent used, you can view every response translated into English. You can also export responses as a PDF in either the respondent's language or your own.
